A Peachy How-To Video

A Peachy Galette from Nicole Rosales on Vimeo.

I can't believe it! We finally completed my first video blog post! It was so fun filming and editing this how-to video with Sarah Gee. I love her perspective and she made this process a breeze!

This recipe is a perfect summer time dessert. We couldn't help but sneak a few peaches while filming because they were so sweet and fresh. I would love to know your thoughts on this recipe and this video. This has been a huge learning experience so any tips on how to make it better is greatly appreciated! I hope you enjoy!

The Daily Prompt- Light, Growth, The Last Thing I Ate

The Daily Prompt challenge has really inspired me. The ability to capture beautiful moments in a photograph for memories should not be taken for granted. I can't wait to continue it. Here are my photographs for Light, Growth, and The Last Thing I Ate. Read why I chose these particular photos below and check out more photographs from this morning after the jump.
1. Light- The bright, backlit lighting in this photo is not the only reason I chose it for Light. Erika herself brings such a light everywhere she goes. Her graceful transformation into motherhood is inspiring.
2. Growth- Every word, every breath, every smile from Chad is a testament to the Lord's goodness. Knowing Chad and his story has taught me how to accept that through Christ, we really are made new. I am blessed to call him my friend.
3. The Last thing I Ate- This one is obvious..it was the last thing I ate haha, The Go West Omelet from Kraftsmen. I want to live in this place and eat their griddle cakes every day.

More photos from today after the jump.

Joining Creature Comforts: The Daily Prompt Challenge

I have always loved the idea of doing a photo challenge. Looking back on fun memories and inspirations sounds so dreamy! However, I am terrible at adding daily disciplines. I read about the Daily Prompt Challenge for August on Creature Comforts and loved the way she presented the challenge. It is by no means required to be daily, and I love that there are ideas associated with the challenge that will prompt you into remembering to take a photo. So here I go on my first photo challenge! I will be uploading pictures on my blog as well as my instagram. #thedailyprompt.  This will be a great way to continue to familiarize myself with the SLR and find new ways to be creative with Instagram. Summer Tomato Pie

Tuesdays off are my absolute favorite. The mornings are so peaceful in my quite apartment in my quiet neighborhood. I was greeted with wonderful smiles from my best friend and her sweet son later that morning and we had breakfast and caught up on life. Free time and friend gatherings always call for something homemade. I've had an obsession with pies and tarts lately but have yet to make something savory. I decided to make a tart with tomatoes, zucchini, mozzarella, parmesan, and basil since it is summer and the tomatoes are fresh . It resulted in a flakey, cheesy crust with a rich, indulgent cheese filling. See the recipe below!
